MISSION:

I help busy women, artists, teachers, and Creative Entrepreneurs to embrace their Inner Critic, destress, and express themselves authentically with calming Mindful Art activities, trainings, and coaching.

VALUES:

The Foundation of our Values include: Creativity, Connection, Curiosity, Compassion, and Community.

creativity

We are all creative in our own way. Creativity simply needs to be tapped into; the Creative Muse asks us to be willing to explore. To show up. The simple, daily creative self-care practices we explore are meant to reawaken and deepen your connection to yourself, your self-awareness, your self-compassion, your self-expression. The expressive arts activities we explore focus on the process, not the end product, because we need a safe space to create and ways to befriend our Inner Critic. We offer Expressive Arts activities, such as SoulCollage, Art Journaling, Free-Writing, Expressive Painting and Drawing, Sandtray Play, Poetry, Clay work, Contemplative Photography, Movement and Gestures, Trauma-informed Expressive Art exercises, and more.

connection

Creating sacred space for us to turn inward allows us to reconnect with ourselves. By filling our own well with nourishing practices, we're able to connect with others in the world and show up fully. We explore a variety of mindfulness-based practices in a safe, non-judgmental way which allows us to safely explore what's present for us in this moment; connecting with our bodies, our thoughts and emotions, and when we're ready, connecting with others. We are reminded to reconnect with our innate wholeness, and we are reminded that we're all connected (as we see mirror reflections and our shared humanity when we share with each other).

curiosity

Being curious allows us to open to possibility. We return again and again to releasing expectations and judgment, so our curiosity can be free to explore. Through mindfulness and creative play, we explore what needs to be held, heard, and expressed. It is a practice of collaborating with chance. We choose to give ourselves permission to focus on our Inner Child's voice (vs. our Inner Critic) with simple practices that encourage play, creativity, and remembering our resilience and wholeness. Being curious and open (often taking on a "beginner's mind" to simply see what's present) is a foundation to a lot of this work.

compassion

Compassion, especially Self-Compassion, can be a sticking point for some. Developing a practice of self-compassion nourishes the soul and feeds your creativity. Self-Compassion can feel like a loving embrace or warm blanket wrapped around us offering support. Exploring your creativity and self-care can shed light on the barriers in your life; perhaps limited beliefs or things that have held you back. These practices can also allow a release for difficult emotions that may have been held for quite some time. Self-Compassion offers a refuge; it offers us a safe haven we can rest in so we can be with what may bubble up to the surface and hold ourselves tenderly and with love and acceptance. The Self-Compassion practices we explore (such as Metta Meditation and Guided Self-Compassion Visualizations) allow us to extend this compassion outward towards others in the world.

community

We are tribal creatures. We not only survive with support, we thrive. Mindful Creative Muse encourages creating within community; especially women supporting women. If you feel called to carve out time and space for you to reconnect with yourself (and others!), to feel more at ease and less stressed, to play creatively, and take care of yourself more fully, you've found your tribe. Whether it's connecting via comments through social media, through video chats during e-courses and trainings, or in person during retreats, you can feel secure knowing that you're exploring this journey with other seekers. Trust that you're welcome and perfect exactly as you are in this moment. Welcome, love!
